Obituary for Tatyana Anatolyevna Rukhlina-Dyess
Tatyana Anatolyevna Rukhlina-Dyess, 51, died February 17, 2018 at UMMC following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Tatyana was born April 18, 1966 in Volgograd, Russia. As an only child, she grew up very close to her cousins. Tatyana was educated in Russia, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Linguistics. She moved to the United States and Mississippi in 1997 to pursue additional education, earning a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Jackson State University. Tatyana held several positions in financial services and worked as an Interpreter-Translator. Her last employment was with Jackson State University writing grants.
She married Van Dyess of Star in 2009. She attended Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church in Clinton and for the past three years, St. Peter Antiochian Orthodox Church in Madison.
She is preceded in death by her father, Anatoly Ruhlina. Survivors include her mother, Zinaida Ruhlina, of Volgograd, Russia; husband, Van Dyess; cousins: Aleksandr Kuznetsov and Petr Lysenko, of Russia; and childhood friend, Irina Pronina, of Russia. She had many special friends while living and working in the Jackson area. She also leaves behind her dear cat, Murka, already adopted by her friend, Fiona.
The Trisagion Prayers of Mercy for the Departed will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Peter Antiochian Orthodox Church, 180 St. Augustine, Madison, MS 39110, with visitation to follow at the Church.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Peter Antiochian Orthodox Church, the Very Rev. Fr. John C. Henderson and the Very Rev. Fr. Paul Yerger, Concelebrants. Interment will follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery.
Tatyana would be pleased to have memorials made to St. Peter Antiochian Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 2084, Madison, MS 39130 or to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 414 E. College St., Clinton, MS 39056
